Funeral Services

Brian Kelley

Brian Scott Kelley was born August 5, 1990 in Bellflower, California to Thomas and Kathrynn Cummings Kelley. He attended high school at Payson High and American Leadership Academy, graduating in 2009. During and after high school, Brian attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He enjoyed rock climbing, outdoor activities, running and spending time at the gym. He loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest.

Brian served in the Georgia, Macon Spanish Speaking Mission from September 2009 to September 2011. He was always ready and willing to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to anyone who would listen, both during and after his mission. After his mission, Brian worked at Ken Garff Nissan of Orem and was loved by his work family there.

His positive attitude was an example to all and his kindness affected many. He was a friend to anyone and he felt that everyone was worth getting to know.

Brian returned to his loving Heavenly Father's arms on July 16, 2012 from injuries sustained in a tragic accident. Even after his accident Brian was able to help many people by being an organ donor. We have been so grateful for the thoughts and prayers in our community and the wonderful care Brian received at Utah Valley IHC in Provo.
We love Brian and will miss him tremendously but take some comfort in knowing that we will see him again. We know he is doing missionary work in the spirit realm and that he is ready and worthy for whatever the Lord has in store for him.

Survivors include his parents, Tom and Kathy Kelley, of Santaquin, sister, Susan (Joe) Deardeuff, brothers, Andrew (Alli) Kelley, Alex (Megan) Kelley, and his puppy Lissy; his grandma, Nancy C. Kelley, his grandpa, Auville Cummings, and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 21st at 11:00 am at the Santaquin North Stake Center, 545 North 200 East. There will be a viewing at the same stake center on Friday from 6 to 8 pm and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:45 am prior to services. Interment, Santaquin Cemetery under the direction of Brown Family Mortuary, Santaquin.

Memories and condolences may be shared with the family on this blog.

  1. I really want to come and pay my respects. Please update as soon as you can...

It is a truly terrible loss to lose Brian Kelley in this world.

Hopefully he will be all of our guardian angels and make the world a better place still.

He has changed and influenced so many peoples lives.

Besides last week, I hadn't talked to brian in years, but I knew him growing up and he always used to tease me about liking his friends. he was funny and annoying and just like a big brother.

I know the town is crying right now, and even the earth has sent rain down in condolence.

I will be at your funeral i promise, and I hope you know that you made a difference to everyone.

    I know im long lost,
    Brianna

  3. I don't even know where to start.. I'm so glad i got to grow up with him for the 15 years i lived in Santaquin, having him in my ward all my life doing church activities together messing around all the time.. Hanging out with our group of friends always listening and dancing around singing Tanacious D running around playing night games with everyone, and just always having a good time.. I just can imagine him smiling at me and looking at me with those beautiful eyes, and just hearing his voice in my mind.. I remember him always just randomly grabbing and holding my hand for the heck of it. He was such an amazing guy.. Now he has a better mission on the other side and i know the lord has plans for him. Brian i miss you so much this is gonna be so hard but i know you will help me through it. As well to everyone else, you have made such a huge impact on everyones lives. we will miss you so much. Watch over us <3 i love and miss you Brian. Until we meet again.

  4. Dear Kelley Family,

The missionaries of the Florida Jacksonville mission wish to send our love to you. Elder Kelley was the Zone Leader of the Savannah Zone when the Georgia Macon Mission was dissolved and his zone became part of the Florida Jacksonville Mission. He was loved by all the missionaries he served.

We have asked any missionary that would like to share an experience he or she had with Elder Kelley to write it down. We will be sending this to your family so that you know what a powerful influence for good he was here.We are holding zone conferences next week and we will forward all of the notes following those meetings.

The night before the Savannh Zone came into our zone I texted Elder Kelley to ask if the preparations for our zone meeting were all complete. He texted back that they were all completed and that were looking forward to meeting me then closed with, "we love you president". He said that to me and I had never met him or talked with him. One on one he helped countless missionaries and we will miss him. He lives on, we all will!!!

    Love,
    President and Sister Barry
